Farm house in Tuscany - Chianti Holiday Apartments at Cabbiavoli

Tuscany Country House

Every building in the Tuscan landscape is redolent of the many cultures that inhabited it throughout the centuries.

About 30 Km from Florence, Cabbiavoli castle, built on the ancient Via Francigena connecting France to Rome, is a shining example, evoking a multitude of ancient influences. The castle's history dates back to 1210, when the Counts Alberti di Certaldo built Caput Aulae, as the centre of Val d'Elsa's court. With the background of this history, the barns built to serve the castle make an ideal location for visitors wishing to spend a comfortable and relaxing holiday.

The 9 apartments were recently renovated to include all modern appliances while maintaining the traditional Tuscan charm. Each apartment is equipped with independent heating system, wooden fireplace, satellite TV, broadband, linen and dishwasher. The Agriturismo's shared facilities include a large swimming pool (6 x 12m or 20 x 30ft), a garden, bowling green, table tennis, barbecue, children’s recreational area and access to a shared washing machine.

History of the Castle

This aristocratic Villa, in which I took an interest in 1930 on the occasion of various archaeological finds in its grounds, belonged to Signora Ester, the widow of Brandini of Castelfiorentino. Situated at around three kilometres from this village from which one can reach by a public road the hill of Mozzano, as it is called, where there was the ancient Pieve di Castelfiorentino.
